Neil deGrasse Tyson On Astronaut Sunita Williams’ Return After 9-Month Extended Stay
The astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore finally made it back to Earth two days ago, along with their rescue crew, Rosmos cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov, and crew commander Neil Hague, as they boarded the SpaceX Dragon capsule.
Speaking about the mental conditioning and physical recovery of Williams and Wilmore, who spent prolonged work trips to space, Neil deGrasse Tyson remarked that usually the astronauts recover within a week.
“They are professional astronauts.” He added, “They are selected not just because they are physically fit but also because they are emotionally fit.”
