
Flagstaff resident and Kenyan native Sharon Lokedi, 31, finished first amongst women’s runners today in the 129th Boston Marathon.
Lokedi finished with a time of 2:17:22, 19 seconds faster than the runner up and smashing the record by over two and a half minutes.
Lokedi currently runs professionally for Dark Sky Distance, a running team sponsored by Under Armour and based in Flagstaff. It was created initially to help medium and long distance athletes pursue medals in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
