The U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree stopped in Flagstaff on Friday night as part of its journey from Nevada to Washington, D.C.
Hundreds gathered at the Flagstaff Mall to welcome the 53-foot red fir, named Silver Belle.
The tree lay enshrined in a large white trailer for its voyage across the country and the Forest Service provided ladders for people to climb up and sign it.
“Flagstaff loves D.C., enjoy the tree,” Susie Brooks rehearsed what she was going to write before she climbed up.
The tree comes from the Humboldt Toiyabe National Forest in Nevada. It’ll be on the road for the next 10 days.
